our story

Established for the 2024-25 school year, the booster club was created by a group of cheerleader parents/guardians who were alarmed at the limited resources available for this group of talented athletes and dedicated community leaders. Cheerleading was dropped from district athletic funding and is not covered under district fine arts funding so it has been left with a very limited allocation from the school’s general operating budget. The school and community call upon the cheerleaders to appear at 30+ events each year including pep rallies, sporting events, district events, community celebrations, and school events, yet funding for the program is dwindling. This reduction in funding is particularly alarming given the high level of socioeconomic need in our school community (38.9% of PHS students fall into the category of “Economically Disadvantaged”) and the high cost of participation in this sport. The goal of the booster club is to ensure that cost is not a barrier to entry for any interested student and that the team has the equipment it needs to be safe and competitive. Pflugerville High School Cheer Booster Club is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
